Summer Techsploration 2012

Course Description: This new course is a blended learning experience, meaning that we will have some face to face classes, and some online lessons.  In this course you will learn or continue to learn how you can incorporate technology tools like blogging, Twitter, Google Apps, and other Web 2.0 tools into your professional practice and curriculum, including connections to the Common Core.  Through this course you will have the chance to learn more about how these tools are transforming the traditional classroom by capturing student interest and increasing creativity and productivity.  Through the course you will read about schools that are successfully using technology, make connections with other educators around the country, contribute to the dialogue about technology and education today, and have a chance to play with some interesting web tools.  As a culmination to the course you will have the chance to redesign an unit or lessons to include some of the new tools you have learned.  If you’ve been wanting to brush up on new technology, or feel like you have no idea what I am talking about when I say Web 2.0--sign up for this course and end your summer feeling like a Tech Pro!
